The Gifts of Spring - Canvas for The Reiche Family
Twenty-two is a number that has followed me around for over a decade now. Dreams, license plates, my boss's birthday, Panera order place cards- the list goes on and on. I've wracked my brain (and the internet) constantly for possible meanings to this personal little phenomenon, but for now, it mostly is a symbol of completion and God's warm and steady hand in the things that concern me. It's that warm reminder of Him saying, "Hey- I got this."
My friends Chris and Jess claimed the final spot in my Spring Project (Spot #22, of course). The caveat? I had 12 days between work, weather, and daily living, to finish the project before they would be heading off to Georgia... for good. Ah, I do love a challenge!
Project Details
Painting a custom piece comes with its own unique, interesting chain of events. It's an interaction, it's a collaboration, and it's also an exchange. The painting is birthed from the details you that you give me. I love to see them come to life, because much like people, it's different with every one.
Chris and Jess asked for a blue and metallic color scheme, reminiscent of Van Gogh's famous "Starry Night," along with the quote,
"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." -Walt Disney

This project took a total of 7(ish) hours, gave birth to 3 different canvases, and included one near-tragic explosion of Tinkerbell embossing glitter before the final product appeared. Some of the swirly gold details are my favorite.
There's still gold fairy dust stuck between the cracks in the kitchen floor. Oh well. We can fly! Sorta.

// Jess + Chris, it was such a pleasure to work on something for you. Praying that you get to fully experience every moment of God's warm love in new places and the way he brings everything together in perfect timing on your new adventure... and every day forward.
Colossians 1:19-20
The Message
"He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the resurrection parade—he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross."

+ Some "Back in the Days" because they make everything that much better:

| Post church hangouts at Applebee's. I was always pretty proud of this shot, capturing the cuteness ;) |

Love this - thanks so much!
